Historic Landmark
Our historic building, built in 1896 in the Victorian Eclectic style, served as Shelbyville High School through 1911. From 1912 – 1929 it served as a middle school for seventh and eighth graders and from 1930 to 1997, it housed the Shelbyville Central Schools administrative offices. In 1998, the schools donated the building to the Foundation and BRCF restored much of the interior using grant money and local donations. The building remains home to our offices, the Addison Times, a local attorney, and two mental health providers. We are located in the following historic districts of Shelbyville, Indiana: the Westside Historic District and the Shelbyville Commercial Historic District.
