Benefitting Your Hometown Community

The Blue River Community Foundation is proud to serve all of Shelby County.  The Foundation helps caring people meet their charitable goals by connecting them with the causes they care most about.  Recognizing that many people care most about the area where they live or grew up - their own "hometown community" - the Foundation has established geographic area funds to support each of the four corners of Shelby County.  One fund will serve the northwestern part of the County, one will serve the northeastern, one will serve the southwestern, and one will serve the southeastern.  Grants from the funds will benefit charitable projects and organizations that serve each fund's designated area.  The grantees will be selected by an advisory committee made up of residents from each fund's area.  The benefits these funds could have for your hometown community are truly immeasurable!

Each of the four areas to be served by a hometown community fund has been determined by the boundaries of the respective school districts.  Anyone, whether or not he or she lives in the fund's area, can make a gift to help the fund grow.  Gifts of all sizes are welcome.  As the fund grows larger, it will generate larger grants.  These funds are endowed, which means all gifts to the funds will have a permanent impact.
